The Course
Six Coaching & Integration Calls
You will have a call of 1,5 hours before and after each journey to help you prepare and integrate your experience. This can help you to set inentions and properly process your experience. In the first call before the first journey we will discuss the main topics on which we will focus during the upcoming 3 months. The beautiful thing about the journeys is that even stuff you did not know was there might come to the surface to be healed.
Three Catalytic Psilocybin Journeys
The journeys will be held in beautiful spaces in nature, having the privacy and serenity of mother earth. Together we will embask on a journey of self discovery and using the healing properties of this beautiful plant medicine to heal what needs to be healed. The beautiful thing about psilocybine is that its effects are not only on a energetic level, they are also on a deep neurological level. Making it possible to do years of regular therapy work in just one setting.
Neuroplasticity and Brain Connectivity
Increased Neuroplasticity:
Neuroplasticity refers to the brain's ability to reorganize itself by forming new neural connections. Psilocybin has been shown to enhance neuroplasticity, which can help the brain adapt and change in response to new experiences and learning. This increased plasticity allows for the breaking down of rigid thought patterns and the formation of new, healthier ones.
Enhanced Brain Connectivity:
Psilocybin significantly alters brain connectivity. Under its influence, different regions of the brain that typically do not communicate much with each other start to connect and share information.
This enhanced connectivity can lead to a breakdown of the brain's default mode network (DMN), which is associated with self-referential thoughts and ego. Disrupting the DMN can help reduce patterns of rumination and self-centered thinking, often linked with depression and anxiety.
Psychological and Emotional Benefits
Breaking Negative Thought Patterns:
Many mental health conditions, such as depression and PTSD, are characterized by entrenched negative thought patterns. Psilocybin can help disrupt these patterns, allowing individuals to view their experiences and emotions from new perspectives. This disruption can lead to profound insights and emotional breakthroughs, often resulting in a lasting positive shift in mood and outlook.
Facilitating Emotional Release:
Psilocybin can facilitate the release of repressed emotions and unresolved traumas. By bringing these emotions to the surface, individuals can process and integrate them, leading to emotional healing. This process can be cathartic and can help individuals confront and overcome deep-seated emotional issues.
Therapeutic Applications
Treatment of Depression:
Research has shown that psilocybin can be highly effective in treating depression, particularly treatment-resistant depression. The substance's ability to foster new neural connections and disrupt negative thought cycles can result in significant improvements in depressive symptoms.Studies have demonstrated that a single dose of psilocybin, combined with therapy, can lead to sustained reductions in depression for several months.
Alleviating Anxiety and PTSD:
Psilocybin has shown promise in reducing anxiety, particularly in individuals with terminal illnesses. The substance's capacity to induce profound, mystical experiences can help individuals come to terms with their mortality, reducing death anxiety.
For PTSD, psilocybin's ability to reopen neural pathways and promote emotional processing can help individuals confront and integrate traumatic experiences.
Enhancing Cognitive Flexibility:
Cognitive flexibility is the brain's ability to switch between different thoughts and adapt to new situations. Psilocybin has been found to enhance cognitive flexibility, which is often impaired in individuals with mental health disorders.
This improvement can lead to better problem-solving skills, adaptability, and resilience in the face of stress.
Mechanisms of Action
Serotonin Receptor Activation:
Psilocybin is converted into psilocin in the body, which primarily acts on the brain's serotonin receptors, especially the 5-HT2A receptor. This activation is believed to play a crucial role in its psychedelic effects and therapeutic benefits.
The serotonin system is involved in regulating mood, perception, and cognition, and psilocybin's influence on this system can lead to the profound changes in consciousness and emotional state that many users experience.
Reduced Activity in the Default Mode Network (DMN):
The DMN is a network of interacting brain regions associated with self-referential thoughts, introspection, and the sense of self. Psilocybin reduces activity in the DMN, which can lead to a temporary dissolution of the ego and a sense of interconnectedness with the world.
This reduction in DMN activity is thought to be correlated with the therapeutic effects of psilocybin, helping individuals break free from habitual thought patterns and gain new perspectives.
In summary, psilocybin can help rewire the brain by enhancing neuroplasticity, increasing brain connectivity, disrupting negative thought patterns, and facilitating emotional release. These changes can lead to significant therapeutic benefits, including the treatment of depression, anxiety, PTSD, and other mental health conditions.
